Mary, Mary, quite contrary

I've been blog visiting. And most unusually I have been contrary in most of my comments. Not in a bad mood, but I seem to have disagreed or disapproved (how smug am I?) of all kinds of writings that I more usually cuddle up to quite comfortably. So I have chuntered, set challenges, and generally been a fairly insignificant pain. Now it's your turn to tell me I am a vicious, carnivorous butcher and will be reincarnated as a slug. Or perhaps an intensively farmed pig. Sorry. On best behaviour tomorrow.

well I seem to have emerged unscathed. Not sure whether that's a compliment or an insult!

FPot - all is equilibrium today and compliments all the way!

Hi Mopsa - I did ask somewhere in blogoland (I forget where precisely - such has been my week) whether your porkers had returned home and I now see they have. Amazing the scrolling photogallery - not sure how one achieves that. But I must admit I chickened out when I saw the trotters whizzing by.
Re being contrary or challenging - if you can't do that in blogland then where can you do it safely nowadays without a potential knife in the windpipe.

Sorry - now I've had chance to read my comment - in NO WAY was I intending to sound as if I'd knife you in the windpipe.
I couldn't help but notice that one of your comments had been deleted - did you lose your nerve and tone it down a bit for the second comment? or did you just have a mad techie moment and post your comment twice like I've often mistakenly done?

Lady T (not Tavistock) you can do your scrolling piccies easy peasy on www.slide.com. And no, I didn't think you were threatening to knife me! As for the deletion, I had typos I wanted to correct and had hit the publish button before proofing. No toning down tho on a topic like that.

Be very afraid ...

Ooh Kaz, what a thrill. Springwatch is filmed just a very few miles from here - I will have to find a Mopsa hide or splash out on some camouflage.

Fantastic Mopsa! I loved the way you wrote a comment, then thought better of it. I do it all the time!

Go girl.

But "best behavior" can be sooo boring my love. Kick your heels up a bit, be a ruthless hardass for a month;-)

You do seem to opt for contrary positions, Mopsa, dearest.

I don't think there is anything wrong with having an opinion and expressing it. It's people that delete your opinion, and when people write their opinion about your opinion and then delete their comment, that I think are pathetic.

M and M: Re your opinion about people being pathetic for deleting their comments:

Maybe sometimes a person can say something and then think better of it, or realise on looking at a comment again later that what they've written doesn't read well and therefore may be taken the wrong way, causing offence where none was meant. Or maybe it sounded more harsh than they really intended it to, or a bit too confrontational. Whatever. And sometimes they do it accidentally when trying to correct an error. I don't think I'd describe any of the above as pathetic.

You might feel it's annoying.

But pathetic? No, I don't think so.

SM - I didn't think better of anything, I had just included too many typos and my shame at being seen to mis-spell just overcame my pride! If you ever see a MOpsa deletion, that is the only reason - I rarely have enough self control to think twice!

Lady Mac - I am enough of a hardass in life - it might do me good to be rather kinder in the virtual world!

Sir James - I do my best to speak my mind....

Oooeerr M&M - I haven't had anyone delete one of my comments before....I will let you know when that happens and get you on my gang.

SM - yes, some folks have self control only after they press the publish comment and think better of it - some are just good at counting to three and turning away. Others just punch out their thoughts. All good ways to behave I feel. And don't it make blogging interesting?

SM, I saw what you wrote,so deleting it didn't do much good did it? Have the courage of your convictions.
